Making "Flace" (Lace face) Masks

When it comes to wearing face masks, there are 3 types of wearers; #1. "True believers", #2. "Non-believers", and #3. "Those with medical conditions who can't wear a mask". (We aren't going to debate any of them here.)

These masks are for those in categories #2 and #3.

I started making lace masks for myself and my husband who have breathing issues (ie. Medical conditions) and need to be able to draw in as much oxygen as possible with each breath, unhindered.

I immediately started getting requests to make them for others.

Then there were requests for non-lace masks that you could still breathe through, that it wasn't obvious, like lace face masks.

I found several fabrics that fit that bill, making those people happy they could wear them to work, besides everywhere else they may be required to wear a mask.

To date: I have made approx 250 "Flace" masks and I have given most of them away to people who complimented or commented on my mask. All of the comments I have received have been positive!

Here are photos of some of the masks I have made. If you would like some, I am asking for a $10 donation for 2 masks, which includes shipping. If you're local and I don't need to ship, they're 3 for $10. That way I can keep making them, to give away to those in need. To donate: Just email me, make your request, and I'll invoice you.

Does Sewing make you hurt?

Do you love to sew? Have you been sewing for years or just a few? Does it make you hurt? I know it did for me.

Over 40 years I went from being able to sew all day long to not at all.

That is when I decided to sell fabric and develop my patterns into a PDF format so I could sell them online as downloads.

I changed my diet (Paleo, then Keto) and that helped a lot. I was able to start sewing small projects again, like baby booties. If I tried to do more than that I would be down for days with a fibromyalgia flareup and arthritis pain.

I researched CBD. I tried several brands. Some helped, but I had issues with them, like my throat burning when I took it. (not all CBD is created the same)

Then I was introduced to this all-natural, organic brand. What a difference! I got my bottle just before we left to visit my family in NC. It took me 3 days before I noticed I could move my arm without a nerve in my shoulder pinching. Then I noticed I had more stamina. We went to a Rennaissance Faire and we walked around all day without any problems until we were walking out to where we parked, then my legs started getting shin splints. I would usually get them walking half a block.

It has been 5 months since I started taking this brand. Most of my pain is gone and when I do overexert myself, I recover by morning instead of in weeks.

I have been able to make jeans quilts again. I mention them because of all the pairs of jeans that need cutting, their weight and having to heft them to sew them.

My current project.
I can't sing the praises of this miracle in a bottle loud enough!
It has given me my life back! It just might do the same for you!

What Can Hemp-derived CBD Oil Do For You?

What Can Hemp-derived CBD Oil Do For You?

I really don't know. You would need to try it and find out for yourself.

What I can tell you is what it has done for me: I am one of the 60% of Fibromyalgia sufferers that medication didn't help. Within 1 week of starting to take this CBD oil, I no longer have the constant pain that kept getting worse over the past 40 years. It has significantly eased my Arthritis pain too!
I am posting several pictures here that explain the difference between Hemp-derived CBD oil and Marijuana-derived CBD oil (Medical Marijuana).
And a list of ailments that people and studies have shown
Hemp-derived CBD helps with.
Don't take my word for it, Google it yourself!

Contact me with your questions! I will answer the best I can or direct you to where you can get the answers you seek.
I would also like to hear how CBD has helped you.
If you are using another brand and would like to compare products, I suggest you order a Free Sample, just pay shipping ($40 value).

Upcycling Denim Blue Jeans, Quilt Project, Part 2

Upcycling Denim Blue Jeans, Quilt Project Pt. 2

My cousin gave me an old wool blanket to use in my next project, so I did. I cut 10 inches off the side, measured it, cut it to the right length and sewed it to the bottom. Perfect fit!

An old wool blanket for the batting.
I then determined how long the ex-wide middle piece of fleece needed to be to fit squarely in the center, then cut the tie-dye fleece to make an even border. I cut the tie-dye 3 inches wider than was needed so I could use it to self-bind the quilt on to the front.
